Border Politics 2018 Border Politics 2018 breakthrough

The yard of the Ignite @ NRCG residency at Ballina is used as a shortcut by council workers from their office building carpark to the cafe in the Northern Rivers Community Gallery beside the residency. I blocked the five gates of the yard with paper that was easy to break through, if you had a mind to, and spent a week repairing any breaches and watching people make their decisions. The woman in the main picture above, like most people, decided to go around. A few charged on through. After a week, I took down the barriers and talked to people as they cut through again about what decisions they had made the previous week and why.
